Uppingham to Barrowden
Leaving Uppingham along Stockerston Road, we pass the famous school and then head into the countryside, with sweeping views across to Wardley Wood in the valley, then head back towards Eyebrook Reservoir, pass the ancient village of Snelston(remains of only) through ridge and furrow fields to the village of Lyddington. A wee gem of a place with stunning ironstone cottages, along with Bede House, the Bishop’s Eye and the parish church. Then heading towards Seaton, pass the incredible architecture of the Welland Viaduct, onwards towards Morcott through more open arable fields and down into the pretty village of Barrowden and its duck pond in the village green.
